Perspective from a New Novelist
Speaker: Rebecca Ansari, Novelist
In Ansari’s first novel, The Missing Piece of Charlie
O’Reilly, Charlie O’Reilly’s little brother, Liam, vanishes.
No one believes Charlie except his best friend, Ana, and a
new boy in town. Together they embark on a journey into
an unseen world where they learn the importance of
families and forgiveness. Ansari will tell us about how she
came to be a writer, how she found an agent and an editor,
and what roles they play. She will describe sources of
ideas for a story, how ideas can change during writing, how
to keep story details in order, and how to tie up loose ends
after changes are made.
