Mylou Moua, Evaluating and Testing Specialist, Multilingual Department, Minneapolis Public Schools

Our speakers work daily with new immigrants. They will present an overview of multilingual education focusing on English Language Learning and bilingual education at Minneapolis Andersen School. Learn the challenges and successes of recent arrivals as they adapt to a new country. -Diane Boruff

EDUCATION: My Experience and Evolution as an Educator

Speaker: Megan Olivia Hall, Minnesota Teacher of the Year, Open World Learning Community

Hall will discuss challenges being faced in public education. She came to Open School as a student teacher in 2002 and returned as a science teacher in 2006. Drawing on her experience and evolution as an educator, she will discuss challenges we face in public education. She will share solutions implemented in her school community, including character education, motivational techniques, parent voice, and teacher leadership. -Barb Link
