The Metropolitan Council and Habitat for Humanity work toward enhancing our region’s quality of life. Women have an important role to play in forging new collaborations and bringing new voices to the table. Dr. Roach became board-certified in Integrative, Holistic Medicine in 2008 and has a special interest in mind/body medicine. She will describe the health benefits of meditation and teach some simple meditation and breathing exercises that improve energy and help manage stress. -Samiha Ibrahim

This presentation examines how declaring apartheid a theological heresy in South Africa contributed to its demise. Vrudny will explore how other forms of religious extremism might similarly be diminished in power by equipping and mobilizing populations to challenge destructive interpretations of sacred texts. -Elaine Kirk
