Speaker: Phyllis Root, Author and Naturalist
How did a beautiful stand of pine trees survive
deforestation in our north woods? Root’s love of nature is
central in many of her books. In collaboration with
illustrator Betsy Bowen, her newest publication, The Lost
Forest, is a unique blend of natural and United States
history. A mapmaker’s error in 1882 left us a rare treasure
of nature.
