Iran’s Nuclear Program: Power for a City or its Destruction?
Speaker: Rolf Westgard, Professional Member of the Geological Society of American and the American Nuclear Society
Westgard will update us on the status of Iran’s nuclear program, a topic that is often in the news. He will also discuss the Megatons to Megawatts program under which uranium from Russia’s dismantled nuclear weapons enrich half of the fuel used by our 104 United States nuclear power plants.

ISAIAH: Faith Groups Seek Justice

Phyllis Hill, Lead Organizer, ISAIAH
Ecumenical, multi-racial, nonpartisan and congregation-based, the ISAIAH organization works with faith groups in the Twin Cities and St Cloud area. It describes itself as a vehicle for congregations, clergy, and people of faith to act collectively and powerfully, advancing social, economic, and racial justice in Minnesota. The speakers will describe how ISAIAH members – 90 congregations representing 175,000 individuals – become involved in faith-based actions using the democratic process. -Geri Burns and Kay Kessel

Speaker: Dr. Lois Bollman, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Minneapolis Community and Technical College

Bollman will help us understand MNSCU (Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system), its mission and work. She has a broad range of experience working in the system, which the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota.
