BOOK DISCUSSION In Times of Fading Light by Eugen Ruge

Winner of the German Book Prize, this novel follows four generations of a family against the backdrop of the collapse of East German communism. Anthea Bell is the gifted translator, who is adept at finding the tone of the voice of the original manuscript. It is a provocative read with politics, love, and family themes.

Milkweed Editions and Milkweed Books

Speaker: Daniel Slager, Publisher and CEO, Milkweed Editions

Milkweed Editions has been part of the Twin Cities publishing scene for over thirty years. This non-profit organization shares space in the Open Book complex on Washington Avenue, along with The Loft and the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. In addition, Milkweed has opened a bookstore in this facility. Slager will tell us about the mission of Milkweed Editions and Milkweed Books.
