9:30 – 10:30 LITERARY PURSUITS Presidents’ Hall

Your Library Supports Literary Pursuits

Without help from a library we would have a difficult time in our personal literary pursuits. Today’s speakers will present the inside story on how they are able to organize, prepare, and present a variety of high quality and diverse learning services.

10:45 – 11:45 ENVIRONMENT Presidents’ Hall

Speaker: Carolyn Collopy, Senior Environmentalist, Waste Reduction and Recycling,

Minnesota increased its recycling goal for the metro counties to 75% by 2030. Collopy will provide an overview of current management of waste in Hennepin County and discuss the county’s strategies for reaching the state goal.

Speaker: Senator John Marty, State Senator, Minnesota Legislature, District 66

Many feel our health care system is sick, and it is likely to get worse if we continue to tinker with small changes. Marty will speak about problems in our current system, how we can make real change, and a path to achieving healthcare that is accessible and affordable for everyone.
