Speaker: Nathan Fisher, documentary filmmaker

Minneapolis-based documentary filmmaker Nathan Fisher will present and discuss four short documentaries he produced with Twin Cities-based Iraqi refugees as part of the ongoing “Iraqi Voices Project.” Each film tells the story of an individual who fled Iraq after the 2003 US invasion and eventually settled in Minnesota.

Nathan’s first feature-length documentary, The Unreturned, told the stories of middle-class Iraqi refugees in Syria and Jordan. He is currently working on a film that looks at the influence of money in politics, through the lens of efforts to maintain Minnesota’s ban on Sunday alcohol sales.
