The Economic Impact of Immigrants in Minnesota
10:45-11:45
Presidents’ Hall
Speaker: Bill Blazar, Senior Vice President, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, and Founding Member, Minnesota Business and Advocacy Immigration Coalition.
The growth rate of Minnesota’s workforce is declining as the rate of baby boomer retirements is accelerating. There is demand for high-skilled professionals as well as for entry-level and mid-level workers. When jobs are left unfilled, businesses and the economy do not function at their highest levels. Immigrants help relieve the worker shortage for many Minnesota companies. -Mary Lee Johnson
