The Power of the Story
Jonathan Odell, Author

Odell will talk about how he came to write his novel, The Healing, which explores the power of story to heal the mind, body, and soul of a people. He will describe his extensive research into slavery and the Jim Crow South, which led him to the almost forgotten story of the black southern midwife and her role in community healing.
