Millett will present a slide lecture on the vanished mansions of downtown Minneapolis and Lowry Hill, including such notable properties at the Thomas Lowry-Thomas Walker estate and the many fine homes that once overlooked Loring Park. Sisterhood of War: Minnesota Women in Vietnam
Speaker: Kim Heikkila, Historian and Adjunct Instructor, History Department, St. Catherine University
Heikkila interviewed 15 Minnesota nurses who served in Vietnam about their experiences in the war zone, their postwar struggles with PTSD, and their campaign to build the Vietnam Women’s Memorial. She will share compelling stories as she discusses the research that led to publication of Sisterhood of War. -Bette Stacy
